The Age of Culture Global (TAOC Global) brings together research, dialogue, creative practice and cultural exchange to help people understand one another and shape their shared future.
Headquartered in Singapore, we connect thinkers, artists, educators, technologists, young people and communities across generations and cultures. Our work makes knowledge more accessible and creates opportunities for people to learn, contribute and participate.
Why culture?
Culture shapes what we value, how we understand the world and the choices we make together. It lives in our relationships and institutions, our stories and traditions, and the ways we respond to change.
We believe culture should guide how societies develop, how technology serves people and how future generations learn to live together. Through research, conversation and shared creative experiences, we put that belief into practice.
Our Origins: The Age of Culture Project
The Age of Culture Project was founded by D. Paul Schafer in Markham, Canada, in 2015. Over its first decade, Paul developed the project’s founding vision and body of work, drawing on his extensive writing about culture and the human future.
That contribution remains central to our story. The original project’s history, publications and achievements are recognised in their own right and continue to inform the work we undertake today.

TAOC Global and Miko’s World are complementary arms of a shared mission.
TAOC Global brings research, cultural thought and dialogue into conversation with the questions facing society. Miko’s World creates opportunities to encounter those questions through cultural exchange, the arts, friendship and experiential learning, particularly among younger generations.
Knowledge informs the experiences we create. Those experiences bring new voices, questions and understanding into the work.
The team behind the work
Atlas Faculty is our designated global Secretariat and implementing group. It brings together research, editorial, technology, design and production capabilities to carry ideas from an initial question through to publication, programmes and public participation. Atlas provides Secretariat support for both TAOC Global and Miko’s World.
